Use Text Links
Research has indicated that the most clicked Amazon Associates links are text links that are placed within a page’s content. By
placing links within relevant anchor text directly in a page’s content,
readers are more likely to explore the link for more information. This
will take the reader to an Amazon product page, which typically offers
abundant information and will hopefully result in a conversion.
Link Images to Product Pages
Many readers click on images on web pages for a larger size or to clarify a diagram. With a compelling caption, the likelihood of a visitor to click on an image linked to Amazon increases. Relevant information related to a product will be presented to the visitor through Amazon, which could result in a sale.
Place Links Above Content
Reader banner and ad blindness tends to steer attention away from web page sidebars, where ads are usually placed. A text link strategically placed above the first line of content can greatly improve click-through-rate (CTR).
Place Links at End of Content
One
of the problems with writing good material is that readers won’t click
away from content if their attention has been captured and they are
intrigued by what they are reading. That is why it’s
important to place a text link at the end of a page’s primary content,
especially if you’ve enticed the reader to seek more information on a
product that you’re promoting.
Don’t Beg
Begging can take many forms when publishing content online. Placing too many ads, banners and links are just a few types of begging that exists online and it turns readers off. Instead,
take a subtle approach to product promotion and give readers the
opportunity to seek a product through legitimate interest rather than
constantly begging for clicks.
